1605 is a label run by UMEK that was relaunched in 2019, since it’s relaunch it’s become a main outlet for the label owners own music. Previously the imprint had featured tracks by many of techno’s best-known talents including Oscar L, Spartaque and Spektre.
Since the relaunch 1605 has been responsible for several top selling tracks such as Vibrancy which went No.1 on Beatport for many weeks. Closing off the year in style, UMEK has squeezed in what could be considered a Christmas present to fans, as he has given an official release to his edit of Quench‘s classic track Dreams.
Having already proven a popular part of his DJ sets, the reworked version started out as a DJ tool only for his personal use, but the overwhelming crowd response has prompted sample clearance for an official release.
With ominous chimes, distinctive vocals and a huge lead synth, it’s a classic track that in 1993 was something of an anthem. Long forgotten and unknown to younger generations, this techno rework has everything you would expect from UMEK’s trademark style.
