Berlin’s Mother Recordings is one of the newest labels to immerse in the world of deep and tech, but with releases from Nhan Solo, Kevin Knapp and Purple Disco Machine, it’s clear they’re here to stay. For their 30th serving, they welcome back German producer Superlover, the two track selection is impressive to say the least, labelled ‘Girl’ and ‘Hurt’, we sense a subtle personal touch with the track titles. Girl comes straight in with a thrilling top line, dub stabs and heavy house drums. hurt goes much deeper, as well as having a more crisp edge. The vocal chops and piano chords pull it along. Old school chords and tom toms also fill the second half of the arrangement, having it take our vote from this one.
