Rumours concerning the future of streaming giant SoundCloud have been doing the rounds for a while. Stories about deals with labels and an investment from Twitter have both surfaced in recent times and now it appears that the German company may want to sell.
Sources claim that the company value themselves at one billion dollars. Bloomberg reports they hope to increase profit and development through its users, but finding a buyer has proved a torrid task due to the staggering asking price.
As mentioned earlier, Twitter had been in talks to buy the site, but later pulled out. They did invest a handy seventy million to “enable Soundcloud to remain focused on building value for creators and listeners alike.”
