Techno’s eccentric Seth Troxler makes his debut appearance on British Hypercolour for HYPE042, alongside New York’s Phil Moffa. Titled ‘Rogue Music’, the EP comes as two fine cuts. The first, ‘Blue Rawls’, is very much an ever progressing, up and down techno monster. The resonant tones of the bassline slowly creep up, before roaring across the speaker like a predator charging for it’s prey. The blurry drone fx and filtered kick drums make it a perfect addition to the sweaty 3am set.
‘Meet The Butcha’ comes in much more energetic and in your face, the percussive riffs and long fx have it as a must have for any DJ set. The skippy bass and heavy drums keep the dark feel and progressive tempo with the addition of the slightly aggressive claps being gladly welcomed.
Our pick from the two is without a doubt ‘Meet The Butcha’, the drums are genius, the audio fx are well selected and the mix leans well towards a bright yet heavy aesthetic. Grab it from January 26th via Hypercolour!.
