The word Petrichor typically refers to the smell in the air after a period of heavy rain, but for the city of Glasgow it holds more of a connection to Soma Records regular Simon Stokes and his impressive experimental techno project.
This month will mark the release of Stokes brand new long player with Petrichor, and what better label to deliver the record than Slam’s iconic Soma, who after several hundred releases have put out music from Adam Beyer, Funk D’Void, Phil Kieran, Surgeon, Gary Beck and Harvey McKay.
From the dozen tracks included on the Narisshu LP, we host an exclusive premiere for the albums title track. It brings an eclectic dish of dreamy synth textures, rich and dynamic hat rhythms, rounded, portly kick drums and a side of well produced melodies.
Petrichor’s Narisshu LP will drop September 27th on Soma Records.
