Giuseppe D’Alessandro, otherwise known as KiSk, founded London label Apparel Music back in 2009. The imprint was originally established under a love for all things jazz. Apparel would go on to draw influence from a diverse pallet of cultures and has racked up a number of quality releases, including work from Delano Smith and Sarp Yilmaz. As for the artist himself, KiSk has performed alongside prestigious names such as Mount Kimbie and Derrick May, and his own productions explore a variety of different genres that mould together the romance of jazz and the modern aura of electronic music.
After a year out the London label are back with a four track VA project. Apparel Music B-Day 6 is limited to 200 copies and features tracks from Voyeur, Ivano Tetelepta & Eugene Latumeten, Kerem Akdag and the label owner himself.
KiSk’s ‘Just U’ is a sunny piece of disco infused house. A track that would sound just as at home in a coffee shop as on a dancefloor, it showcases splashes of soul and funk as cultured drums melt over a melodic dream.
Apparel Music B-Day 6 is out on Apparel Music from December 16th.
