Rating: 8.0

Brazilian born DJ and producer Joyce Muniz is known for her strong musical output on labels like Shir Khan’s Berlin based Exploited Recordings.

This past February also saw her release with DJ Hell and his Gigolo imprint, since then DJ Hell himself and Meriton both remixed her original Toxic People, and Muniz and Hell have hooked up yet again to bring a couple more remixes.

Amongst the new edits we find work from Play Paul, The Model, Jerome Sydenham and Demetr1us. Though it’s the work of Berlin based Jerome Sydenham that grabs our attention.

The remix brings a chunky house heater, combining muscular basslines with massive percussion and chilling vocals and with Sydenham’s previous catalogue listing collaborations with Kerri Chandler, The Martinez Brothers and Dennis Ferrer, you’d be a fool to expect anything otherwise.

Joyce Muniz – Toxic People (Remixes) will drop September 14th on DJ Hell’s Gigolo label.
