Premiere: Ian O’Donovan ‘Voodoo Doll’

Rating: 8.0

Irish producer Ian O’Donovan could be one of the island’s top exports in recent years, aligned with guys like Phil Kieran and Montel with a catalogue that includes Drumcode, Planet E and Tronic.

This time around O’Donovan makes an appearance on Carl Cox’ famed Intec label, an imprint that has hosted names like Cristian Varela, Stephan Hinz and Nicole Moudaber in the past.

The three tracked Voodoo Doll EP is made up of Voodoo Doll, Hardline and Suspicion, while we premiere the opening title track – Voodoo Doll.

Sonically, it’s a demonic blend of fiery club screeches and ear punching snare hits, with the latter half of the arrangement smothering you in a wide spread techno landscape.

Ian O’Donovan’s Voodoo Doll EP is available 1st September on Intec.
