The current situation surrounding Coronavirus has led to the cancellation of events and festivals on a global scale. With Ultra Music Festival, Time Warp, SXSW and Coachella being among those either cancelled or postponed.

As such, thousands of otherwise touring musicians have found themselves stuck at home, with likely nothing to do but spend time in the studio.

Music-tech titans Moog and Korg have both decided to make things a little easier, with the Android and iOS editions of their Minimoog and Kaoosilator apps being temporarily free.

Moog’s Minimoog Model D iOS app, which usually retails for $4.99 and offers 160-presets, an arpeggiator module and several effects, including delay and modulation, can be got here.

Korg’s iKaoosilator, which has a higher RRP of $20, offers 150 built-in sounds and can be used to create all kinds of crazy sounds via it’s X/Y control module can be found here.

Moog have not confirmed how long the Minimoog will be available as a free download, Korg’s iKaoosilator is available through March 20th on Android and through March 31st on iOS.
