Eleven people were admitted to hospital in Oldham on Saturday night due to “highly potent” MDMA, one of which has died and four of which remain in critical condition.
The drug, which reportedly is called ‘pink champagne’ is deemed responsible for killing the twenty five year old. The Greater Manchester Police have since issued a statement.
“If you think you may have taken the drug or know somebody who has then you need to seek medical attention. If you believe somebody else has taken it and begins to show one of the following symptoms then get them to a hospital immediately”. Signs to look out for include rigid muscles, shallow breathing, a fast racing pulse, hyper-aggression, seizure, foaming at the mouth and unconsciousness.”
A twenty six year old man has since been arrested on suspicion of selling class A drugs, but has since been released under investigation. Police would like anyone who might have information on the trauma to come forward and co-operate.
