Kidnap Kid returns with the new single ‘Stronger’ / ‘Like You Used To’
‘Stronger’ sees the award winning young London via Sheffield producer, real name Matt Relton, apply his singular touch to a six-and-half-minute dark and emotionally charged house epic. Highlighted by expressive piano chords and a haunting vocal refrain, ‘Stronger’ displays the deft musical instincts and production flourishes that have singled him out as one of the UK’s hottest up and comers. Flipside ‘Like You Used To’ is yet more addictive listening with Fur Coat finishing off the release on remix duties.
Kidnap Kid made his name with a string of successful singles, with debut ‘Vehl’ on Black Butter going on to receive the accolade of US iTunes ‘Best Electronic Song of 2012‘. Follow up ‘So Close‘ racked up over 200k plays on Soundcloud in just one week, and summer anthem ’Survive‘ went straight to the top of the Hype Machine charts.
These bonafide club favorites, alongside official remixes for Disclosure, Emile Sande and Rudimental among others, have seen him rack up a 1.6 million strong following on Soundcloud.
Things continue full steam ahead in 2014, having just come off a European tour supporting Disclosure in Europe and an upcoming six date UK run in April as main support to Clean Bandit before heading off on his third US Tour, appearing at Annie Mac Presents as well as the Black Butter Showcases at WMC and Coachella.
The summer will see him gracing the festival tents of Glastonbury, Parklife, Hideout and Secret Garden Party, with more dates TBC.
With support coming from both radio (Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Rob Da Bank, Target + more) and club tastemakers and a loyal and supportive fan base, ‘Stronger’ sees Kidnap Kid raise the stakes ever higher, promising big things for him in 2014.
