This weekend ONYX Ibiza alongside KRPT London, 2016’s IMS visionary winners are giving music lovers a chance to explore the beauty of live techno with the use of a 9 foot synthesizer designed to replicate the legendary Roland TB-303 at London’s brand new electronic festival Junction 2.
The scaled up device is one of a kind modelled after a legendary synthesizer that has a place within most electronic producers hearts. Known for having a defining role in contemporary music, the time has now come for everyone to have a go! The device was created by the creative minds at Ray Interactive based in Edinburgh, who a few years ago also created a giant 909 replica.
Onyx founder and resident DJ, Mikaela will also be present for all 12 weeks, together with the Onyx and Space Ibiza teams she aims to curate and present a refresh of what Ibiza seems to have become in recent years, an overhaul of authenticity if you will.
Luke Farrugia is the manager and curator of ONYX IBIZA, an exciting new techno event launching in Ibiza. They’ve been invited for 12 weeks every Monday to Space this summer and have prepared an incredible line up dedicated to explore the darker side of techno music, a high-end project that combines electronic music and 3D mapping in a bespoke production that promises to be the sensation on the White Island this season, and certainly a treat for true techno lovers. The full-line up includes legendary acts from Dave Clarke and Harvey McKay all the way to Juan Atkins and Blawan.
“I’ve never seen anything like it at a festival and it’s one of the reasons why we thought it would be such a great fit for Junction 2, Onyx will be showcasing some of the best live techno acts in the world this summer and we want people to appreciate the art of analogue music and it’s role in our culture. I’m glad we’ve found a festival who are looking to create authentic experiences for their fans as well. ” Luke Farrugia
Junction 2’s aim of creating high end production and incredible attention to detail is exemplified through this new initiative, giving electronic fans a chance to make their own music which is expected to be the beginning of a far more engaging festival experience. With tickets on final release and the event set for Saturday, you don’t have long to get involved. A line-up filled with techno-gods in a unique new space should not be missed…
