A television show about the rise of acid house throughout the 80’s is reportedly in development, and it’s being written by the great Irvine Welsh.
Ibiza87 is being penned by the Trainspotting author and is set to detail the story of a crew of South Londoners who travel to Ibiza to become DJ’s. The show is being produced by Fulwell73 and also features writing credits from award winning screenwriter Dean Cavanagh.
The story is reportedly based on the real life story of Danny Rampling, Paul Oakenfold, Nicky Holloway and Jonny Walker’s infatuation with acid house on the party island three decades ago. The soundtrack will be orchestrated by Oakenfold, Rampling and Holloway.
