Interview: ENØS release on Endless Music

Interview: ENØS

Swiss duo ENØS secure another step up the ladder of the future stars of techno with a trio of productions on Berlin label Endless Music. The Haze EP will fit amongst a catalogue that already includes Tentacles Recordings and Click Records.

We sat down with them to talk about how the record took shape, how it felt to see support from Mind Against and what they have to come.

Hey guys, great to catch up! How are things?

Amazing, just came back from Caprices Festival in Crans-Montana which was absolutely crazy, amazing place, great people! We also have a lot of gigs ahead, really looking forward for the one with Mind Against and Artbat at D!Club. And we’re also super happy about the release of our EP on Endless Music, so yes we’re super fine.

Your Haze EP is coming this month on Endless Music, tell us about the release?

The tracks are a little different than the ones we normally produce. We really tried to explore another facet of our music, maybe a little bit more raw, more atmospheric and ambient.

It comes in at three tracks in total, do you have a favourite from the three?

They’re all different it’s hard to pick one, we have a different approach on each track and a different way to listen to it. The three of them fit in our sets but each of them provide a different feeling and sets a proper vibe when they’re played.

You have previously appeared on labels like Tentacles and Click, are there any other imprints you would love to put music out on?

They’re plenty of labels we like and admire! We have so many unreleased tracks and each of them tells a unique story which could eventually fit with different labels.

And being from Switzerland, how is the scene there in comparison to massive cities like London or Berlin?

Even if the country is pretty small, there are amazing venues with great line-ups! Clubs such as D!Club in Lausanne or Nordstern in Basel are amazing clubs. There are also amazing festivals here, for example Caprices Festival, Polaris Festival or Montreux Jazz Festival which has amazing techno parties with great artists.

You saw support from Mind Against on their Afterlife mix, exciting moment for you no doubt?

Yes for sure! It is such an accomplishment seeing Mind Against or Tale of us supporting our music ! But we also felt blessed when we heard, newcomers, such as Mathame, that we really esteem, playing our tracks.

Can you tell us about what you have planned for the rest of 2018?

From the beginning of the year we have our residency at D!Club, great gigs coming. We’ll probably have another EP coming before the end of the year. We’ll keep on giving the best of us in the studio, but sometimes it’s hard to manage time between university and music.

And lastly, let’s finish off with one track you can’t seem to turn off right now?

There are many tracks of many different musical genres we can’t turn off at the moment, but if we have to pick up a techno one it would be Moby – Go (Luigi Tozzi Edit).
