Frankie Knuckles first official remix receiving reissue

frankie knuckles, soundspace, full time records

The first official remix ever conducted by house godfather Frankie Knuckles is receiving a reissue thanks to San Francisco based imprint Dark Entries.

The original version of ‘I’m Going To Go’, written by Michele Violante for Knuckles’ Jago project, was released in 1983 through Full Time Records and gained a beloved reputation thanks to Larry Levan’s sets at Paradise Garage.

In 1985 the label contacted Knuckles to enquire about a possible remix of the track. The remix is called ‘Plant Mix’ and Full Time Records actually mispelt ‘Frankye’ in Knuckles name, but it remains the Chicago icons first official remix all the same.

The impending reissue is set to drop August 20th and will include remastered pressings of the original version, the instrumental and the Frankie Knuckles remix.
