soundspace, berlin, drug culture

It’s reported that Berlin’s rave community have started to induldge themselves in the taking of a cocoa powder called cacao, in order to amplify their experience when listening to house music.

It’s been happening increasingly at a party called Lucid; here employees drop the chocolate high into customers drinks, others choose to sniff it. The organisor of Lucid, Ruby May, states that the powder provides an enhanced experience when listening to any form of electronic music.

Cacao reportedly raises serotonin levels and creates a state of euphoria which is a result of raised anandamide levels in the brain.
