After a brief summer break, Friday Forum is back at Point Blank London with another deconstruction from Electronic Music Composition (EMC) course tutor Ski Oakenfull. Ski tackles one of the songs of the summer – Caribou’s Can’t Do Without You. It’s a simple song that builds gradually into an epic ending while retaining the same original idea throughout. The deconstruction treatment looks to break down the elements of the tune using Ableton Live to show you exactly how the melodies and sounds were put together.
