Ellen Allien and BPitch Control represent a diverse section of Berlin’s clubbing environment. The label represents the techno roots on which the city has built its musical reputation, but is by no means restricted by the views of the genre purist. The differing sounds of a wide range of artists from throughout the world are encouraged to build upon the ever growing platform of Allien’s brainchild.

What began as a series of parties has now evolved into one of the most forward thinking musical ecosystems around. BPitch was created in 1999, moulding itself together with the techno movement of that era. Since these humble beginnings the label has become a concrete element in the city of Berlin, encouraging creativity and individualism at every turn.

Art and club culture come together under one singular identity. A home of creativity where the artistic can rest their thoughtful heads. Body and soul unite in a flood of emotion. Here are our favourites from BPitch Control.

Ellen Allien – Landing XX

Landing XX marks the most recent BPitch Control release, and it comes straight from the creative mind of the label head herself.

The release sees Allien staying true to Berlins techno personality. The title track is an absolute weapon. Heavy kicks and acid influenced wubs combine to create a frightening and intense aura.

The simplicity of the track is part of its appeal. Each new element is layered carefully and precisely, resulting in concrete techno.
