When he’s not playing to crowds at Awakenings, Tomorrowland, Panorama Bar and Elrow, Italian techno DJ and producer Marco Faraone is releasing his music on Drumcode, Rekids, Ovum, Get Physical and more top imprints.

2018 will also mark Faraone’s third year as a resident for Marco Carola’s Music On party in Ibiza, playing alongside guys like Green Velvet and Apollonia.

If you don’t think Marco is busy enough, he also heads up his own label, UNCAGE Music, where he has put out releases from Radio Slave, Skudge, Marcel Fengler and Eduardo de la Calle.

01. Where are you right now and what are you doing?

Right now in my studio, working on a remix and preparing my bags and music for the weekend.

02. What year were you born?

1988, the year of the dragon.

03. What’s the coolest thing in your house?

My studio, of course!

04. Worst experience as a DJ?

When someone dropped a beer into the mixer and it exploded. Luckily we had another one.
 People were screaming at me but wasn’t my fault.

05. Best experience as a DJ?

Bringing everyday my music all around the world. When I started djing I was 14 years old and I didn’t even expect to play outside of my bedroom. So everyday for me is a new experience, a new journey.

Everything what is beautiful.

08. First record you ever paid for?

Lucio Dalla – Attenti Al Lupo, 1000 lire.

09. Studio or DJ booth?

Both, different emotions.

10. Your dream collaboration?

With Laurent Garnier or Robert Hood. Or maybe both.

11. Tell us something we shouldn’t know about you?

I’ve never took ecstasy.

Yes, when I was younger, but nothing important.

16. Busy city, or quiet beach?

Quiet beach.

17. One act who’s inspired you your whole career?

Jean Michel Jarre.

18. If you weren’t in the music industry, what would you be doing?

Food is my second passion, so maybe a chef.

19. Worst job you’ve ever had?

Playing in an empty club after long travel was probably the worst. 
I also used to work in a gas station when I was young to collect some cash, but trust me it’s not even half as shitty as playing for no people. I personally felt very bad.

Once the promoter got so wasted, I had to help him up four stairs to put him in his bed.

30. Weirdest request as a DJ?

Play ‘Despacito’ for €200 last summer in Mykonos. I swear I didn’t.

Diet Coke.

32. If you had one super power what would it be?

Read into other people’s mind.

33. Late sleeper or early riser?

Very late sleeper.

Shower. And I hate when the shower is in the bath.

I wanna ride the hyperloop.

No, but I would love to. Maybe one day when I don’t travel so much.
