40 Questions: Adeline

Performances on stages at The BPM Festival, Burning Man and Sankeys are a rarity for even the most seasoned DJs, but it’s regular routine for Swedish native Adeline.

Alongside a growing tour schedule, the now Ibiza-based artist has released original music on Crosstown Rebels, Glitterbox Recordings, Culprit and Kindisch.

We welcome her to our 40 Questions series ahead of this weeks release of her new remix for La Fleur’s Aphelion, coming on her Power Plant Records imprint.

40 Questions: Adeline

DJ Tennis/Manfredi inspired me a lot as he’s a close friend of mine and has got so much experience from all areas of the industry. He’s very wise.

22. If you weren’t in the music industry, what would you be doing?

I wanted to run my own fashion brand, I’d do something with management as that’s my education. I’d also be a spiritual leader of some sort.

23. Worst job you’ve ever had?

Pub in London, I didn’t make it past the trial shift.

24. Favourite record right now?

This song is not super new, but I’ve been playing it a lot lately, Strange Behaviour in a Kobe remix by Blagger. It starts so jazzy and goes into a minimal slick acid line. And I love the vocal.

Larry Heard’s – The Sun Can’t Compare. Gives me chills, still, every time!

My laptop.

I’m kinda always on the road, and I live. So much in the now. I don’t have a really good memory. I think I’ve had a pretty smooth journey so far.

34. Weirdest request as a DJ?

I guess that would be back in the day in Sweden when I’d play a song with some vocal and they’d say please play something with a vocal. Just because it wasn’t mixed like a radio song they wouldn’t realise it had a vocal on it. Just because it was proper music.

35. If you had one super power what would it be?

36. Late sleeper or early riser?
